The U.S. Mint is selling the 2009 Presidential $1 Coin Uncirculated Set for $15.95, which does not include the cost of shipping and handling.

You can also buy 2009 Presidential $1 Coin Uncirculated Sets from private coin dealers. However, coin dealers generally set their own prices, so it is likely you will wind up paying a few dollars more for the set should you buy it from a private dealer rather than from the U.S. Mint.

John Tyler dollar coin

James K. Polk dollar coin

Zachary Taylor dollar coin

Facts About The 2009 Presidential $1 Coin Set

Similar to how most recent U.S. mint sets are typically packaged, the Presidential $1 Coin Uncirculated Set comes in a folder. Both sides of the coins are visible. The coin folder contains color illustrations and information about the presidents who are honored on the coins.

One of the advantages to buying the Presidential $1 Coin Set is that you will be able to obtain all 4 of the dollar designs for 2009 right away. Otherwise, you will have to wait until the fall of 2009 to purchase individual uncirculated dollar coins from the bank or a coin dealer.

Don't forget, the uncirculated set contains both Philadelphia and Denver coins. Newly minted Denver coins are hard to come by in the East, and coins recently minted at the Philadelphia mint are not easy to find if you are out in the West.
